Esther Hwang

Ms. Hwang graduated from Princeton University with a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry with an emphasis on transition metal complexes. She conducted biomedical research at the National Institutes of Health with a focus on infectious diseases and has several years of experience in both biotechnology research and regulatory affairs at Integrated Genetics, Inc.

Ms. Hwang leads and implements the Jain Foundation's patient recruitment and diagnostic efforts. She interacts extensively with patients, educating them and their family members about dysferlinopathy, guiding them through their diagnostic tests, and communicating with their physicians. She develops and manages the foundation’s dysferlinopathy patient registry, works with other disease foundations to identify patients with dysferlinopathy, analyzes patient data, and develops policies and procedures related to the foundation's diagnostic testing recommendations.
