Hillarie Windish, PhD

Research Program Officer

 
Dr. Windish earned her PhD in Immunology from the University of Pittsburgh studying the interaction between Mycobacterium tuberculosis and its host. She continued her education as a postdoctoral scientist with the Infectious Disease Research Institute in Seattle, Washington, where she characterized the immune response to vaccination and subsequent pathogen challenge. Dr. Windish's considerable immunology expertise and keen analytical skills help support the Jain Foundation's research efforts exploring new therapeutic avenues for dysferlinopathy.

As a Research Program Officer and member of the Jain Foundation Scientific Advisory Board, Dr. Windish is directly involved in determining the direction of new and ongoing projects as well as helping to facilitate their successful completion. Her focus is on basic science and discovery projects that the foundation feels are vital for identifying new therapeutic avenues for dysferlinopathy. In addition, Dr. Windish is also working with Dr. Albrecht to manage early translational projects being conducted by CROs.
