Funding Statistics
The Jain Foundation has awarded over $8 million in research funding since it was established in 2005.
The first chart below shows the total amounts spent on scientific research projects (basic research, translational research, and diagnostics) from 2005 through 2010. The increased funding in 2009 is a reflection of the Request for Proposals issued in late 2008. To illustrate the scope of our research support, the second chart shows the average, maximum, and minimum funds awarded to individual projects. Finally, the third chart shows the total amounts spent on generating new research tools (e.g. cDNA constructs, cell lines) for the dysferlin community from 2005 through 2010. These figures do not include foundation operating expenses (including personnel) or expenses associated with the annual Dysferlin Conference.
